Topic: A chink in the London Police Services' armour
I posted the following on the Canadian Equal Parenting Council Yahoo group that I belong to, yesterday:
Quote:
Hi all,
Tonight, Bob H, Ryan D and myself (Brad C) attended a Community
Consultation Meetingū that was put on by the London Police Service,
with the meeting's intent being to get the public's input into what
adjustments could be made to the policing policies for London's next
three-year budget plan.
Ryan began to raise his concerns about London's infamous Domestic
Violence policies, but not surprisingly, Police Chief Murray Faulkner
interrupted fairly quickly, attempting to derail the topic. Ryan
managed to make a few key comments before being cut off completely by
Murray's common comment: Men are inherently violent creatures. We have
lost our way, so that we now fight each other, abuse our partners and
"we sexually assault our own children."
Intentionally sitting separately from Ryan, I took up where Ryan was cut
off. After quoting some TRUE StatsCan statistics, I took specific issue
with Murray's "we sexually assault our own children" comment. I stated
that Deputy Chief Ian Peer (who was in attendance) had just finished his
report regarding my complaint about Kelly Johnson's refusal to charge my
ex-wife and her mother for the sexual assault that they committed
against my daughter (in attempt to frame me), and even though both Ian
Peer and Kelly Johnson admitted that the assault occurred, they still
refused to press charges.
I was prevented from saying anything more at that time, but our comments
certainly got attention. LPS Inspector Heslop came up to me immediately
after the session ended, interrupting my conversation with a member of
the London Police Services Board, who was in attendance. The LPS Board
member was a very keen listener, however, as I explained the severe
failings of the LPS to Inspector Heslop.
Inspector Heslop asked me to call him tomorrow, so that we could discuss
where this might go next.
As a bit of an aside, Murray Faulkner is quite a captivating speaker. I
reminded Inspector Heslop that Mr. Faulkner has obviously done a lot of
good work for the city of London, but, just as Mr. Faulkner had stated
earlier in the evening that drugs are the Achilles heel of our society,
I told Inspector Heslop that Murray Faulkner's Achilles heel is his
position on Domestic Violence, as was indicated by his unabashedly,
publicly stating that "[men] sexually assault our own children".
All in all, I really believe that we got the attention of a few
influential people who were there tonight, including city councilors.
Brad C.
